Yanmar MarineĀ“s 4JH4 is a mechanically-controlled, direct-injected, turbocharged, 16-valve, four-cylinder marine diesel engine. Rated 54-horsepower at 3,200 rpm, it boasts a high power-to-weight ratio and a compact footprint. Displacing 2.19-liters (134 cubic inches) it runs quietly and with low vibration.

An Easy Maintenance Design

Designed for easy maintenance its gear-driven seawater pump is sensibly mounted at the front of the engine for quick and easy access. The oil cooler is maintenance-free, Plus the special design V-pulley extends drive belt life. Additional features include an electric-stop solenoid and a compact control panel with hour meter. Alternator output is 80 amps.

Both Mechanical And Hydraulic Transmission Options

As for a selection of transmissions, the Yanmar Marine 4JH4 can be equipped with either mechanical or hydraulic inboard packages. It is also available with the double-seal, heavy-duty SD40 sail drive. Running cleaner and producing less smoke than previous generation marine diesels, the Yanmar Marine 4JH4 complies with current EPA regulations including Tier 2, BSO Tier 2 and EU RCD requirements.
