The MerCruiser 8.2 liter V8 Gas engine for inboards and stern drives builds more horsepower and boast more torque in the midrange than its predecessor. Options include Axius and SeaCore On stern drives you have a choice between Digital Throttle and Shift, or a mechanical throttle. Inboard engines get DTS. For boat builders, installation has been greatly simplified. MerCruiser 8.2 liter gas marine engine, rated 380 and 430 horsepower. MerCruiser 8.2 L is available as either an inboard or a sterndrive.
